Guardianships

Our firm is experienced in the creation of guardianships for adults and children, as well as related litigation in this area. Guardianship law is increasingly important for families seeking to ensure the well-being of children, older relatives (sometimes part of what is called eldercare law), and the physically or mentally disabled. We have experience in a variety of roles in this process, ranging from helping families with wealth management issues, to collecting money that was wrongfully taken from a ward, to serving as guardian ad litem (serving as the eyes and ears for the court in high-conflict cases). Many times guardianship cases are a component of a bigger legal strategy or set of issues involving other areas of the law such as estate planning, child custody, or general litigation.
